Fabric Covered Switch & Outlet Plates

Hi Friends!  I'd like to post this really cool idea, Fabric Covered Switch Plates.  I had seen it first on Better Homes and Gardens, then I searched it online and found a few versions.  I decided to share a How To of my own for my friends that visit my site.  It was a fun to do project, hope you give it a shot too.

Materials
Plastic Light Switch & Outlet Plates
Fabric Scraps
Collage Pauge or (Yes! Paste and Mod Podge)
Sponge Brush
Scissors
Craft Knife
Marking Pen

1- Select Fabric.
2- Trace about 1/2 inch around the inner side of the fabric using the Switch plate as template.
3-Add Collage Pauge all over the front with your sponge brush.  Glue on to Fabric, smooth it out as much as possible.

4- Trace Collage Pauge around the inner edges.  Blend in with sponge brush.
5- Fold edges all around on to back of switch plate.
6- Make an X as follows and cut with Exacto Knife.  Add Collage Pauge and fold in those edges.

7-  Add Collage Pauge around the outside. And smudge all over.
8- For Outlet Plate make an X inside. Cut out around it except for the upper and lower V.  Trim around the outer edge to smooth it out as much as possible.  Fold in the newly formed V's.
( Another option is to use Yes! Paste to glue fabric on to Switch Plates and then Mod Podge Gloss Lustre on the outside as a sealer.)
