Mainstreet Hopkins

Yesterday, I went Vintage Shopping.  Looking up things that might make my home look boho yet with a vintage side kick to it.  I found some wonderful items.  Okay so I went a little over the edge on goblets.  But here's the catch.  I'm putting votive candles in them. They come in all sorts of glass colors and are so unique and intricately designed that I just fell in love.  What's even better is that they were all $6, $5, $3.98, $1 etc.  Yup minus the BIG goblet that was $24 but I would have had a guilt trip if I didn't take it with me.  It is so beautiful.  I plan to put a pillar candle in that one.  I have already chosen the candles I'd like, though I have not bought them yet.  It's the Polynesian Gardenia from Pier1 imports.  Those candles caught my attention since you get that global scent from them.  I also got that pretty little tray you see in the pic.  It's vintage $5.50, from England.  Remember Bohemians were the poor class so the more you decorate as economically as possible the better it is.  Take unique items and use them in alternate ways.  Be as creative as possible. I visited the Mainstreet Hopkins area in MN.  It's so beautiful.  Here are some pics of the strip which has 4 vintage shops and of the items I got.

The Power of Stickers

Have you ever thought of decorating with stickers? Well, recently I bought this cute little cubby with drawers at a vintage shop and it was pretty enough to grab my attention- I knew I had to have it.  Yet it felt like it was lacking something.  Some sort of detail somewhere.  Well adding a sticker in the proper place gave it a much needed uplift.  Don't be afraid to try something new or different.  I have never put stickers on anything before except my scrapbook pages.  But why not dare to go beyond that.  Here's a few pictures showing the results.
